PRESIDENT - VIRGINIA COMELLA -
It's a Presidential election year and once again, Central Florida is the political epicenter of the world. With two more House seats, we are the largest swing state and likely will swing the election. The next President and Congress will decide what happens to your retirement benefits, to current federal employees, Federal Employees Health Benefits and Medicare. You can't afford to sit on the sidelines. I urge all NARFE members to not only vote, but to actively support with time and money the candidates who are supportive of the NARFE agenda.
Most chapter members will be in the new Congressional District 6 which includes St. Johns, Flagler and Putnam counties, as well as Volusia except for DeBary and Deltona. Since there is no heavily-funded incumbent, there are seven Republicans and two Democrats running for the seat. Your Volusia County chapter leaders are working to assure that they hear our concerns and that you know their positions on our issues. A summary of each candidate's views will be on our website in July. We are also inviting candidates to speak at NARFE meetings. Fred Costello, a leading Republican candidate will be speaking the Ormand Beach Chapter 2247 on Monday, May 21 at the River Grill, North A-1-A at 11:30 A.M. You are invited. Heather Beaven, the leading Democratic candidate has offered to talk to our chapter, probably in September. We will invite other chapters to hear her presentation.

Now is the time to contribute to the NARFE-PAC by using the Contribution Form in the NARFE magazine next to the Legislative Report. The PAC has already contributed $5000 to Senator Bill Nelson, who has a 100% track record on NARFE issues.
Please work with NARFE to insure your voice is heard next November. Your future is at stake.
